38 international students participating in Erasmus or other exchange programmes and 15 international full-time students from Turkey, South Korea, Columbia, Georgia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Japan, Italy, Greece, Austria, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka , India and Ukraine have started their studies at Šiauliai University this semester.
Specialists of the Department of International Programmes and Relations prepared and delivered the presentation about Lithuania, Šiauliai and Šiauliai University for international students in the Šiaulai University’s Library. What is more, the Vice-Rector for Research and Art, prof. Dr. Diana Šaparnienė and the director of the Department of International Programmes and Relations, Regina Karvelienė, greeted the students. During the meeting, students met the coordinators of faculties and institutes and the members of Erasmus Student Network at Šiauliai University.
International students were informed of the main rules of living in the University’s dormitory as well as study processes. Šiauliai city police officers also participated in the meeting; they delivered a presentation about the public order and gave some useful advices, such as where to go in a case of an accident, etc.
International students were familiarized with the city of Šiauliai in the first week of September. Soon they are going to participate in a “Welcome party”, a picnic on the Salduvė Hill and other events organized by the members of Erasmus Student Network of Šiauliai University.
