The Šiauliai University community gathered at the concert hall “Saulė” to honor the best colleagues of the year 2015. Nomination winners were awarded with angel statues for the 11th time, which were created by famous art figure – Šiauliai University alumnus Martynas Gaubas. What is more, financial awards were rewarded by the social partners of Šiauliai University.
Following the tradition, six people were awarded as the bests of the year. Prof. Dr. Zita Tamašauskienė from the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Social Sciences became the scientist of the year, while Dr. Neringa Klovienė (representing Institute of Informatics, Mathematics and E-studies) was awarded as the best lecturer of the year. The nomination of the artist of the year was awarded to publishing administrator and assistant of the Department of Fine Arts Vaiva Kovieraitė. Zita Statkuvienė – specialist from Continuing Studies Institute became the employee of the year, while the nomination of the best sportsman of the year was won by the second year student of master’s study programme of Physical Training and Sports Education Justinas Beržanskis (track and field athletics), who won a number of international sports competitions. Roberta Stonkutė, the fourth year student of Lithuanian Philology and Communication was proposed by the Students’ Representative and selected as the best student of the year.
All six winners got premiums of 200 Eur, awarded by social partners jsc „Neaustinių medžiagų fabrikas“, ltd „Bodesa“, jsc ,,Gubernija“, ltd „Salda“, ltd „Jupojos technika“ and by member of the Lithuanian parliament Arvydas Mockus.
Siauliai University Gymnasium also nominated their “bests” of the year. Coordinator of non formal education and curator of 1 – 4 forms Irma Baziulienė was awarded as the best teacher of the year, while Dovydas Vaitkus (4th form), a winner of various competitions and socially active young man became the best student of the year.
University’s folklore ensemble Saule delighted guests of the event, pleasant atmosphere was spread out by Siauliai University brass band, Urtė Kavaliauskaitė and Ričardas Arnotas (Music Pedagogy study programme) were the announcers of the fest.
