18 Agreements and 4 Prizes for Science at Šiauliai University
A monument event was held to stimulate the scientific and business partnerships at Šiauliai University. Prizes for science were awarded for the first time for Šiauliai University scientists; what is more, 18 private and public institutions from Šiauliai and Kelmė districts signed collaboration agreements.
During the event, scientists of Šiauliai University were awarded with prizes for contribution to the country and regional development and progress of Šiauliai University scientific affairs.
Dr. Vita Juknevičienė from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr. Laura Šukienė from the Faculty of Technologies and Natural Sciences were awarded “The Young Scientist’s” premiums, Dr. Simonas Strelcovas form the Faculty of Humanities received the “Scientist” premium. Six scientists of the Institute of Informatics, Mathematics and E-studies were selected in the scientists’ category: Prof. Hab. Dr. Antanas Laurinčikas, Prof. Dr. Renata Macaitienė, Prof. Dr. Roma Kačinskaitė, Prof. Dr. Darius Šiaučiūnas, doc. Dr. Virginija Garbaliauskienė and lecturer Eugenijus Buivydas. The premiums were established by the municipality of Kelmė district (mayor Vaclovas Andrulis), ltd „Polyeta“ (director Tadas Sarnačinskas) and ltd „Bodesa“ (director Rolandas Gabrielaitis).
