DIPLOMA AND DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENT

After successful completion of Siauliai University first cycle (Bachelor’s) studies, Bachelor’s diploma and diploma supplement are issued, after completion of the second cycle (Master’s) studies, Master’s diploma and diploma supplement are issued.

Following the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania No. V-2128 issued on 17 November, 2011, implementing the communiqué of the European education ministers signed on 19 September, 2003 in Berlin considering the model designed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES, each student, who has successfully graduated from Siauliai University, receives a free diploma supplement in Lithuanian and a widely used language in Europe – English. A student does not need to submit a request for obtaining a diploma supplement.

The purpose of the supplement is to provide sufficient independent data to improve the international ‘transparency’ and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.). It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended.

Diploma supplement consists of eight parts:

  1. INFORMATION IDENTIFYING THE HOLDER OF THE QUALIFICATION: Family name, Given name, Date of birth, Personal number/code.
  2. INFORMATION IDENTIFYING THE QUALIFICATION: Name of qualification and title conferred, Main field(s) of study for the qualification, study programme (specialization), Name and status of awarding institution, Name and status of institution administering studies, Language(s) of instruction/examination.
  3. INFORMATION ON THE LEVEL OF THE QUALIFICATION: Level of qualification, Official length of programme, Access requirements.
  4. INFORMATION ON THE CONTENTS AND RESULTS GAINED: Mode of studies, Programme objectives and competences acquired, Credits, Programme details, Grading scheme and grade distribution guidance, Grade distribution within qualification, Overall classification of the qualification.
  5. INFORMATION ON THE FUNCTION OF THE QUALIFICATION: Access to further study, Professional status.
  6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Additional information, further information sources.
  7. CERTIFICATION OF THE SUPPLEMENT: Registration No., Date of issue, Diploma supplement code, Date of publishing.
  8. INFORMATION ON THE NATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM.
